How to show you are watching YouTube on Discord?

There are two types of people, those who want to keep their YouTube watch secret and those who want to show the world what they are watching. 

Though Discord doesn’t show what you are watching on YouTube, there is a third-party tool many use to display their YouTube activity. 

It shows anything you do on YouTube. From your searches to your watch activity to how long you are into the video on your Discord profile. 

What is PreMid

PreMid is a third-party application used by over 500k people to show their online Presence to the world. By default, it shows Netflix/YouTube/Twitch streams to Discord.

But you can add many websites from their website. They support sharing activities of hundreds of websites such as Google, Amazon & Canva, etc.

PreMid works in a pretty simple way. First, you have to download the application on your computer and run it. That’s it; the app will run in the background.

Then you must install the PreMid Extension to your browser. Now, browsing YouTube will be visible as Playing a game. 

Most importantly, it’s open-source. PreMid application, Extension, and website source code are available on GitHub. So, it’s safe to use this tool.

How to install the PreMid application

You must need to install this application, or the Extension will not work at all. Installing the application is easy too. 

First, go to PreMid downloads and select your operating system. Their application works on Windows/macOS/Linux.

If you are a Windows user like me, click on Windows, and it will download the .exe file. macOS users can also download the installation file. If you are a Linux user, you can follow this guide. 

After downloading the .exe file, double-click on the file from Downloads. It will begin the installation process.

Click on Next to go to the following process.

Accept the terms and click on Next.

Now click on Next to download the latest release. It will take a few moments. 

Then click on Next to run the application and open their store. It will open their website on a new tab on your default browser.

Show you are watching YouTube on Discord.

Again visit the Premid Downloads section and select your browser to install their Extension. If you are using Chrome, click on it.

Press the Add to Chrome button. A pop-up will ask for your confirmation. Click on Add Extension.

Once the Extension is ready, tap on the Extensions on the toolbar and pin the PreMid Extension.

Now click on the Premid Extension.

In Presences, make sure YouTube is enabled. You can disable the services if you don’t want to show your history. 

Now go to YouTube.com and watch whatever you want and your Discord profile will show your activity like this:

How to add other services to the PreMid Extension?

Open the PreMid Store on a new tab where you have installed the Extension. Move your mouse to the service you want to add to the Extension.

Click on Add Presence, and it will be available on your Extension. Now, whenever you visit that site, it will show your activity on your Discord profile.
