How to Hyperlink in Discord; The Ultimate Guide
Hyperlinking makes text look better. Follow us on Twitter is better than Follow us at https://twitter.com/techinheart.
It means inserting a link in the selected word(s) without directly typing the URL. But the problem is Discord doesn’t have hyperlinking feature and you can’t use hyperlinks using the discord site or app.
There are some third-party tools to create hyperlinks. Those tools can only be used on the servers you own.
So, that means you can only send a message with hyperlinks in it on one of your own servers/ a server with an administrator role, not to those where you are just a member.
Will discord ban me for using hyperlinks?
No, because we will use a bot that is supported by discord or webhooks created for a specific channel of our server.
It’s an authorized way to send messages with hyperlinks. The best method is the bot because you need to authorize only once and then you can send messages as many as you want.
The downside of this? It will be shown that a bot sent the message, you can’t just paste a hyperlink from your own user profile.
How to hyperlink in Discord
Hyperlink using Carl-bot
As we will perform this action on a web browser, visit Discord and log in to your account because we will need to log in to the bot using our Discord account.
Visit the Carl bot website and click on Log in with Discord. After logging in, select a server where you want to use hyperlinks.
Click on Continue.
Now press the Authorize button to allow carl-bot to manage your server with administrator access.
It will take you to the Bot Settings page. In the Nickname field, you can enter a nickname if you want to change the display name of the bot (the default is Carl-bot).
Click on Apply to change the nickname.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and under the Utility section, click on Embeds.
There are multiple text fields, the only important field is the description field. However, you can use the Title field if you want to add any title to your text.
In the description field, write the text in this format:

It will show as Follow us on Twitter.
In the Destination section, click on the drop-down menu and select the text channel where you want to post the text with a hyperlink.
Then press the Post button and the embed will be posted to the selected text servers within a few seconds.
Hyperlink using a Webhook
Webhooks are a great way to post into your discord channels using third-party channels. The great thing is, you can change the username and avatar of the webhook.
Unlike carl-bot you can’t authorize your webhooks. Instead, you must copy the webhook URL whenever you want to post an embedded message.
Here’s how to use a webhook:
Open the Discord app on your computer and right-click on the server you own. A menu will appear on the screen.
Navigate to Server Settings > Integrations.
Click on Webhooks.
Tap on New Webhook, give a name to the webhook, and choose the channel where you want to embed the message with a link.
Press the Copy Webhook URL because we will need this to remotely post messages.
Now open a web browser and visit the Discord Club dashboard. You don’t need to authorize this tool as you have the webhook URL.
In the Webhook URL, paste the URL you have copied from the Discord app.
Scroll down to the Embeds section and click the + icon to add a new embed.
In the Description field, write your text like shown in the carl-bot method.

Now scroll up to the top and click on Send Message. It will instantly post the message to your selected channel using the webhook.

The only thing we dislike about this approach is that we can’t post hyperlinks on a server we don’t own or don’t have managing access to.
As it associates admin access or webhooks, we can’t embed messages on our favorite servers. We hope discord will soon introduce a hyperlink feature.
