How To Delete A Discord Account?

Discord is fun as long as it’s associated with your daily life. Once you step away from the communities, you may not need to use discord again.

In that situation, you may prefer to delete your discord account. Fortunately, you can do so from the app, they don’t force you to use their website for this.

Deleting your account is a one-way process and you can’t undo this action once the account is deleted after 14 days. If you want a temporary break, we recommend you disable your discord account.

How to delete a discord account

Step-1: Open the Discord App

If you are using the Discord app on your computer, open the app. Alternatively, you can visit Discord.com from a web browser and sign in to your account. The interface is the same for the app and website.

Step-2: Go to User Settings

Click on the User Settings icon at the bottom left corner of Discord. It will take you to the settings page.

Step-3: Click on Delete Account

Before you click the Delete Account button, make sure you have transferred the ownership of the servers you own. If you own any server at all, you won’t be able to delete your account.

Once you have transferred ownership of your servers or have no own servers at all, click the Delete Account button.

Step-4: Enter your password and delete the account

A pop-up will appear on your screen asking for your password. Enter your password and press the Delete Account.

Once you press the button, you will be logged out immediately and the account will be scheduled for deletion. You can log in and restore your account if you change your mind within 14 days.

How to restore a discord account scheduled for deletion?

Once you hit the Delete Account button after entering your password, you will receive an email from Discord that you can change your mind within 14 days.
